Guidelines for “The Application for Registration of a New Campus of a Private Career College in Ontario” –  from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities

There are several components that need to be submitted in order for the ministry to review an application for registration of a new campus under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

The Application for Registration of a New Campus of a Private Career College and all required supporting documentation needs to include the following items:

  • A floor plan of the new facility
  • Fire Inspection Report
  • Health Inspection Report, if required
  • The project revenue from vocational programs for the new campus
  • Evidence of adequate insurance to cover the new campus
  • Completed applications for Program Approval for each vocational program to be offered at the new campus.  If your program is already approved by the Ministry you only need submit the following appendices:
    • Appendix A
    • Appendix D
    • Appendix M
    • Appendix I, if the program has a practicum or off-site placement
    • Appendix J, if the program has received a site-specific approval from a regulatory body
    • Appendix K, if the program has received a site-specific endorsement or certification from a third-party
    • Appendix L, if your other campus(s) are approved for student assistance purposes and  you would like to apply to have the new campus and it’s programs approved for student assistance purposes
    • If you have purchased this program from another institution, individual or organization, a copy of an authorization letter from that person to use the curriculum.
  • A copy of the up-to-date corporation profile report if applicable
  • A copy of an up-to-date Master Business Licence if the business name is different from the business name of your other location(s)
  • A copy of the student complaint procedure for the campus
  • A copy of the student expulsion for the campus
  • A copy of the agreement between the private career college and the person who will be responsible for maintaining off-site copies of the transcripts
  • A copy of the agreement between the private career college and the person who will be responsible for issuing transcripts in the event of a school closure
  • All fees required by the ministry.
